Jambao's Burden

A piece I did for a story set in a fantastic prehistoric Africa like world. The idea was inspired by the way Tolkien took a number of European myths and legends and used them to fashion the world of Lord Of The Rings. The plan is to tell a series of stories in this land. The above image is from the first tale of the Proudlands. This is Jambao's Burden.

Xinju sketchbook

The main character from Xinju against a spacey background. The black and whte line work version and the color version. I only recently got comfortable coloring my own work. Ever since then, I've kind of simplified my line work and use of light and shadow using ink.

Xinju

Ninjas, space-ships and soap (space) operatic antics. Xinju. A pitch for a comic series I'm working on. I've been drawing these characters in one form or another since I was a child. The margins of my math books would be populated by all sorts of alien space ninjas involved in epic battles, in high school through college I wrote and drew comics with them and sold them in my local comic shop. This is the latest iteration of the concept.
